Before beginning the electronic process, please ensure that you review the requirement below:
Requirements for New Requests:
- Curriculum vitae (any style)
- Brief summary of your planned research activities (one page max.)
- Letter of Support from your affiliated Clinical Department Head (if relevant)
- Initial Career Development Plan (template available here)
- 3 years of secured salary and benefits
Review Period:
- Review at 1.5 years by the WCH Appointments & Promotions Committee
- 3-year maximum term

Requirements for New Requests:

- Brief summary of your planned research activities (one page max.)
- Letter of Support from your affiliated Clinical Director and/or Director of Professional Practice (if applicable)
Requirements for Renewal Requests:
- Updated curriculum vitae (any style)
- Brief summary of your current research activities and your future research plans (one page max.)
Review & Renewal Period:
- Length of term will be based on the term of their employment at WCH
- Curriculum vitae (any style)
- Research Plan drafted & signed by applicant in consultation with WCH colleagues summarizing their proposed research activities at WCH in the coming year
- Supporting letters from any additional WCH Scientist(s) who you intend to collaborate with.

The WCH Appointments & Promotions Committee is responsible for reviewing research appointment requests.

Request Process Overview
- Determine your eligibility and requirements for a research appointment. For an overview of research appointment categories and their definitions, requirements, expectations, and available WCH supports, please refer to the matrix document.
- Complete the new electronic application request via link here. *If you need to leave this form, save your progress by selecting “Save and Return Later”.
- Applications will be reviewed by the WCH Appointments & Promotions Committee. Approval letters will be sent out by the Manager, Research Grants, in consultation with the VP, Academics.
