Empowering Communities: Co-Created Resources on Cervical Screening
Cervical Cancer and Screening
With timely screening, cervical cancer is almost always preventable. Today, Canada and many parts of the world, think cervical cancer can be eliminated with appropriate strategies in place. One of these strategies is screening participation for people with a cervix. With screening, precancerous cells can be treated before developing into cervical cancer.
In our work, we bring together research expertise and people’s lived experience to co-create materials and strategies that recognize the day-to-day realities that impact individuals getting screened.

*This is an excerpt of some earlier work we did to identify how the lives and experiences of South Asian women influence their decisions around cervical screening. Currently we’re working with the community to address the action items that were identified to increase cervical screening.
