Rachael Bosma Headshot

Rachael Bosma, PhD, is an early career researcher and an assistant professor at the University of Toronto. While she is trained as a basic scientist with a focus in neuroimaging of the brain and spinal cord, her current research program is embedded in the Toronto Academic Pain Medicine Institute (TAPMI) at Women’s College Hospital where she works with a diverse team of interdisciplinary clinicians. She uses participatory research approaches to address gaps in clinical knowledge, add clinical decision-making and program development, and drive research of innovative solutions for pain management. She is also the inaugural Chair of the Board of Pain Ontario, a new non-profit that is working to elevate education, connection and advocacy in the pain community. She is the director of the University of Toronto Centre for the Study (UTCSP) which is a collaborative partnership between the health science faculties that emphasizes a collaborative initiative to grow the foundational understanding of pain within the diverse disciplines and address gaps in pain care and knowledge.
